In My Life

I have successfully convinced Chris Amaral to play both beer pong AND Kings.
And I think that is totally awesome.

He is HILARIOUS.

Spooky Movie Night Continues...

This week we watched "Creepshow".

MY REVIEW
By: Colleen Green

I have seen this movie before, but I didn't remember a whole hell of a lot about it besides the one where the alien plant shit grows all over Stephen King and all of his shit until he can't takes it no more and blows his fucking head off. That one is good. You have to love a movie that opens with a dad beating his kid. Also, who the fuck eats cake for Father's Day? I like this movie a lot. Watching it sort of renewed my love for Leslie Nielsen too. When I was younger I used to think all the Naked Gun movies were awesome and that LN was a KING. He totally is dude. Another thing that came up: Which do you prefer? Young Ted Danson, or old Becker style Ted Danson? I like the young Cheers-era version; Kayla likes her silver foxes. ALSO I ate FOUR different types of candy bars: Rolos, Mounds, this new Reese's crispy crunchy bar thing, which was not as crunchy as I had hoped it would be yet still quite tasty, and last but not least a Heath Bar. Actually I ate that one before dinner at Danny's house. In conclusion, I think comic books are cool but I have a really short attention span and I was raised by TV so this works for me.

The End.

Monday, October 26, 2009

I just realized that when I posted "I am 25 now", I wasn't really 25 yet. See I was born at 12:45 PM on October 23, 1984...yet I posted this at 10:00 AM!

I lied to you all!
Please keep reading my blog!
OH, I forgot to mention that Ant gave me a POGO STICK for my birthday. Which he promptly broke while pogo-ing in the middle of Filbert St. But it still works!
Also Steve O gave me a Nu Shooz 45.
I just wanted to say that.

ALSO, I GOT A NEW PHONE TODAY!!! So everyone can call me again and of course, send me sxy txts. Here's my REAL PHONE NUMBER!

978 771 3385

I strongly encourage all interested parties to call/drunk dial me. Seriously. I am always bored. My new phone is sort of fancy. It was the cheapest one I could get! The man who helped me was named Theo and he was sooooo nerdy and awesome. I wish I had taken a picture of him with my new phone. We shared several laughs together, it was a sort of fun Verizon experience actually. Sweet! CALL ME!

Surfer Girl

I covered "Surfer Girl" by The Beach Boys.

Birthday .

Friday was my 25th birthday as you may know if you have been reading this blog.
And what a MAGNIFICENT day it was!
I woke up at about 8 am and the sun was shining. At about 8:30 Kayla and I took birthday bong rips and started the day. We walked to downtown Oakland and layed on the grass outside City Hall. Then Dan came and we walked to Whole Foods to get lunch. I love free food! Thennn we walked to the park beside the lake and had a picnic. Then we walked to Dan's house, and I dropped my box of leftovers on the ground. :-(
We did a lot of walking. We walked for miles and miles. This is the only picture I took on my birthday:

Work it, girl.

I forget what really happened at Dan's house, but eventually Erica drove us back to my house for party times. I made punch, my specialty, which is a bottle of champagne mixed with 2 beer pong cups' worth of vodka, mountain dew (any lemon lime soda will do really...but that caffeine gets you FUCKED up!), and fruit punch. Jeff (the namesake of this blog kind of) gave me a bottle of champagne too and we drank it. Anabel and Lea made DELICIOUS chocolate chip cookies that looked like huge pancakes. Nate gave me a smiley face neon drawing that he made when he was in like 5th grade. Devin gave me a pretty flower. Lo gave me weed (awesome). Steve O made me a sweet mix tape.

Me and Kayla split the mushie fudge treat which was very, very tasty. This was right before my band started playing and I was kind of surprised that the shit kicked in almost immediately. I've never actually tripped while playing in front of a live audience before. There was that one time before we left Boston where I candy flipped at 7 am after staying up all night, and had to play a show that evening, which was very, very, very weird for me, but I mean, it's not like I was losing my shit on stage or anything. Anyway, then the Dashing Suns played and it was AWESOME. They were loud and awesome and everyone flipped out and it ruled. I hope they had as much fun as we did. Hott Daxx played a song and it was awesome. The rest of my night was spent laughing EXTREMELY hard with a few people that I really, really like. For some reason, Johnny and Jedediah had a dagger, and Johnny stabbed my bathroom door with it. I tried to stab the desk, but I'm really not strong. At around 4:30 I went to bed and dreamed beautiful, beautiful dreams.

Now YESTERDAY, Yesterday was Allie's birthday. Isn't that nice? It was a lovely day but kind of uneventful. We took the van to San Francisco to go to this Nobunny show/Pizza Party at Theeeeeeee Parkside which started at 3. When we got there there was a huge line and a huge bitchy lady with a really cute deaf dog who liked to pick up bottle caps in one spot, then walk to another spot and spit them out. (His name was Freckles.) Anyway, we had to wait for a long time to MAYBE get in, not even guaranteed and shit, so finally we were like, dude this is lame, let's bail. So we went to the Mission for the Clarion Alley festival which is an all day event that takes place inside a wide alley way that people have painted crazy murals all over. It's kind of cool but also kinda whateverrrr. Bands play and you get to like, look at shit.

The crew in the van.

Going over the Bay Bridge to San Francisco.

We wanted to hang out at THEEEEEEE Parkside.

It really is right beside a park, isn't it?

So after deciding shit was kinda weak over at Clarion Alley we decided to go to Dolores Park and meet up with Allie, Erica and Michael. We sat there for a bit. Then I walked with Nate to put more money in the meter our van was parked at. But no one had any fucking clue where the van was so we walked a long way. Then we found it, it was extremely close to where we started out. In celebration we smoked a bowl in the van, then we went back to Dolores Park, peeps were sitting on the grass as usual. It started getting dark and we were bored so we went back to Clarion Alley. Kreamy 'Lectric Santa was playing. I was kind of into it.

Then me and Nate got Shiso and we came back to Oakland. Kayla and I took bong rips in the tent and I went to bed at like 9:30. So there you have it.

OH also my phone got stolen at my party. So if I don't answer or reply to your sxy txts, that's why.

Thursday, October 22, 2009

Yesterday I cut my hair. I also cut Jose's hair. I paid for weed for the first time in a long time and got a mushroom fudge treat which I will eat on my birthday.

This is pretty much the most I have done all week, besides go to Walgreen's. I asked Kayla if she wanted to come, but she couldn't afford it.

I was thinking, this entire year has been pretty overwhelming. Lots of stuff has happened within it. Let's take a peek:

- September 08: I move to Oakland, CA with my boyfriend Steve O. A few days after getting here I learn that my cousin, who I grew up living next door to, has killed himself. I'm at Best Buy when my mom tells me over the phone.
- October 08: I turn 24. My uncle Harry dies.
- January 09: Have Mercys tour California.
- March 09: Have Mercys visit NV, AZ, NM, TX, OK, UT, CO. My uncle Jack dies.
- May 09: I begin seeing double at all times, without relief. At first I assume it's from smoking too much weed, because at the time I really was smoking a lot. An unnatural amount really. But it never goes away and life becomes surreal. I feel like I am living in a dream because everything I look at only seems vaguely there. Also, I break up with Steve O.
- June 09: I no longer am able to smile, swallow, chew, breathe with ease, or speak intelligibly. I spend a night in the Emergency Room of an Oakland hospital, which is COMPLETELY fucked up. (Note: it wasn't ALL bad because Erica stayed with me until like 2 AM and also brought me food, but there was LOTS of screaming, and one of the dudes in my room had been assaulted with a shovel while standing in his front lawn. Also another one of the dudes in my room was a hobo who had gotten into a hobo-fight and got his face broke. So they were all like, moaning in pain a bunch and shit. Gross. There was also a male nurse who was being a jackass to everyone, being all like "I JUST TOLD YOU!! I CAN'T GET YOU ANY DRUGS RIGHT NOW!! I'M NOT A DOCTOR! LIKE I SAID, YOU HAVE TO WAIT!! DON'T GET PUSHY WITH ME!" But he was nice to me, maybe he was a racist motherfucker. But anyway, at one point I needed something and I went, "Hey Christopher?" and he said, "Don't call me sir, it makes me feel like I'm back in the Army!")
- July 09: My left eye begins to droop like Popeye or some bullshit. I visit Boston to go to a cousin's wedding and my family decides to take me to the hospital instead. I spend an entire week at Beth Israel (on the floor used exclusively for old as fuck people/people with fucked up neurological diseases. So I constantly heard old assholes screaming, shouting the same words over and over at various times throughout the day, and one night at 3 AM I awoke to an old woman SCREAMING, saying "GET OUT OF MY HOUSE! WHO ARE YOU! YOU DON'T BELONG HERE THIS IS MY HOUSE!!! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!!! I WANNA DIE!! OH GOD, OH GOD, OH GOD, PLEASE COME HELP ME DIE." I also had 3 different roommates during my stay. The first one was my favorite. She looked like she was maybe 117, but in reality she was only 65. I'm not sure what was wrong with her, but she was as crazy as a sonofabitch, and spent her days between the bed and the chair. When she sat in the chair she had to wear a helmet. She was very very small. She would often rip open the privacy curtain between our two beds and say things to me, mostly things like, "Did you see that man come in here to take my tray? I think he took my purse." And I would say, "No, I think that's your purse right there." And she would say, "No. He took it. He was touching it. They're all trying to take my things. He doesn't even work here." And I would say, "Yes, he obviously does work here", and she would say, "I don't think so." She thought they were doing fucked up experiments on her too. When they came in to take her blood or give her medicine or whatever she called them stupid idiots and would always tell them that they didn't like her at all. I loved her.) Finally after this week of gruesome tests I learn that I have an auto immune disease called Myasthenia Gravis. Jenna, Joanna, Nelly, Kait, Brian Clark, Waffles and Jaimee all come to visit me. I love them.
- September 09: Steve O moves out of The Full House House. Devin moves in. My medication has finally kicked in and I can see, smile, swallow, and breathe again. The downside is that I have to take a bunch of medication for the rest of my life. Eww.

That pretty much brings us up to speed I guess. What a fucking weird year it has been. I find it pretty emotionally draining to think about it all. But it has also been one of the funnest years of my life. And tomorrow I turn 25, and about a week after that I move to L.A. Hopefully more cool shit happens. The End

sped up? no matter...
Dude, Solange is a BITCH! hahahaha.

So in Celebrity news, Natasha Lyonne is actually NOT dead as I presumed! On the contrary, she is ALIVE and BACK and still a fucking weirdo:

(as seen in New York Magazine)

What was your mother's most memorable advice?

"'Get your tits done.' She said it was going to help my career and 'even me out'. I didn't take her up on it, but just to piss her off, I might get them done right before they put me in the casket, just to be like, 'You were right!'"

Uhhhhhh......

He wasn't just some regular guy...

Old Navy Classics Vol. 1

Weekend.

This weekend was decidedly more low-key than last. Let's take a look:

Friday: Did nothing all day, that I can remember, Nate was there for a while, at night I watched "Pineapple Express" with Devin and Kayla and then went to bed. That movie is so action-packed.

Saturday: Spent some time in bed with the boy I have been sleeping with. Ate some watermelon. Watched the movie "Serpico". Then I walked to Nate's house and ate a quesadilla and chatted with Sweet Tooth and Ben and got to see Lilly. She seemed very excited to see me! Then Nate and I came to my house and recorded a song in a one take wonder. Then he left and I went to bed.

Sunday: Did nothing all day. Jose came over at like 5 and me, him and Devin went on a donut excursion. We went to Colonial Donuts by the lake, which is a super delicious donut shop that is open 24 hours.

The woman who works there is very nice as well. She once told me that she eats a blueberry donut every morning, because it's her favorite. I got a filled bar or some shit like that. Then we went back to my house, ate coffee and donuts, and watched "True Romance". Good flick. Now I will post a picture of Christian Slater. What an inspiration this man has been to me over the years.

Yes!!

Anyway if you're reading this and we hang, you should know that my BIRTHDAY PARTY is this Friday at MY HOUSE! The Dashing Suns are playing and so are Have Mercys. It's gonna rule, I might make punch.

Sex.

Making out.
Sex.
Making out.
Sex.
Making out.
Sex.

Every time I meet an attractive boy I look at his hands and wonder the same things...

1) Does he have a big dick?
2) Is he a good kisser?
3) What would his head look like between my legs?
4) What would I look like giving him a blow job?

I think about all of these things and more.
Sigh. I need a boy to come over and worship my body for a while.

Cactus

Hey I just covered "Cactus" by The Pixies. I love this song. It came out okay I guess.

Download

It's also up on my myspace page.
As you can maybe tell I've been listening to "Trompe Le Monde" a lot lately. See I burned it cuz I don't have any CDs, and so we could have something to listen to in the van cuz all the CDs I do have are covered in coffee and soda.

I think this might be my favorite Pixies song.

I'm covering Cactus too right now. Almost done.

Thursday, October 15, 2009

Good morning.
I am drinking tea. I ate a cinnamon raisin bagel. It is still very early. It is cloudy. I am listening to a song I wrote yesterday that I can't think of words or a melody to. I smoked a bowl in my bed and got high. I am also sending text messages to my friend Joey telling him how much I love him and Ken Jeong, who both remind me of each other. Joey is not Asian. But he is very silly and a bit...comedic?

Whenever fall-time comes I get super excited cuz

1) It's MY BIRTHDAY!
2) Halloween! (although I've been slacking lately. Last year I dressed up as a trashy alien and everyone thought i was a waitress. The year before that I wore my hat which was sort of like a beanie type winter hat, and silly glasses. Oh wait no! I also went as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Alas I'm no match for Kristy Swanson. This year I was planning on going as the ass part of a horse with Erica being the head, but now SOMEONE wants to go as Indiana Jones...)
3) I grew up in New England and not only is fall there BEAUTIFUL and GORGEOUS, it's also quite spoOOoooOOOOky. (Note: I attribute many of my favorite things about New England and the Northeast to the fact that the area is OLD AS SHIT.)

Still, the Bay Area boasts some colorful foliage this time of year, and the weather is vaguely reminiscent of a Massachusetts October. Vaguely.

So I still get pretty excited about "fall" and "spooky stuff" and "halloween things" and "pizza parties" and "jack-o-lanterns" and so on, and so on. In keeping with this theme we created SPOOKY MOVIE MONTH!!! This started last year I think, when me and Steve O started watching tons of spooky movies during the month of October. And the tradition continues.

This week we watched "Friday The 13th".

MY REVIEW
by: Colleen

We smoked weed in the tent and made an INCREDIBLY comfortable bed out of Kayla's mattress/the futon/a million blankets and pillows/a warm sleeping pup.

I have seen this one before but not for a long time. I like this movie. The old woman is soooo creepy though. Is that even a real lady, in that movie? Bitch is jacked up. But it rules. Anyway I was asleep for most of this.

Last week we watched "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", which I had never seen before.

MY REVIEW
by: Colleen

I give this movie two enthusiastic thumbs up! The two girls in it are SO 70's hot, and the killers are SO creepy, especially the weird dad. But it was funny too. I chuckled plenty a time, like when the old dude is trying to kill the girl at the end. I liked it that she got away. Also, I thought the movie itself looked really great. I'm glad I finally saw it, now I want to watch the new version with Jessica Biel in it because I love Jessica Biel.

Who knows what we will watch next week?

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

This is like, the fucking WORST video for a totally awesome song ever, and inexplicably starts off with a picture of a dog wearing sunglasses.

God I love this song!

CAST and PICTURES.

I decided that if you're going to read this blog, there are some people that you're going to want to familiarize yourself with because I'm going to be mentioning them. When I say things like "we" or "we all", I'm most likely referring to any combination of the following people:

Kayla

Nate

Dan

Steve O

Erica

Anabel

Adrienne and Devin

Lisa and Jose.

Now that you know, you can read on with ease. Now here are a ton of pictures!

This is my friend Jay. He is a homie of mine from Tyngsboro, MA who now lives in Brooklyn. This picture was taken in August at a bar in Brooklyn called Eugene's Levy or some shit. We were there with The Dashing Suns and Lo. We had just seen them play at Death By Audio. We played a few rowdy games of Jenga. What a great night. I took this picture with the flash off. I think Jay looks kinda dapper and serious.

I took this picture with the flash on, which I hate. I think Jay looks kinda drunk and well, happy! Haha. Jay rules.

This picture was taken as I sat on the outskirts of the Outlands Music Festival in Golden Gate Park. This tree is very large. There are two people cuddling at the bottom of it. It was really cold and windy that day.

This is my friend and neighbor Jose. He is probably enjoying some delicious cheese and crackers right now. In the picture. That's what a girl brought for snacks.

Here's Kayla and a VERY nice girl we met that day named Mariana. She was a scientist and later that day, got into a heated discussion with these two really weird, really blonde 15 year old girls who most likely go to Philips Exeter Academy, who forced themselves upon our blanket and talked at us for a long time about weird religious stuff. They may have been Scientologists. They sucked, but one of them had a really awesome jacket. Mariana definitely won that day.

This is what Stupid Party looks like when they play a show at my house. This band fucking RULED. In fact, the entire show that night was really awesome. I was super into Bad Blood's set as well. I don't really remember who else played but I had a GREAT time.

By the way, Lisa took these pictures of Stupid Party. I might have told her it would be cooler if she turned the flash off. I think she disagreed because this was the only one without it!

Welcome to The Full House House.

This is a picture I took of a bunch of melted crayons or something I guess in the parking lot of Costco. It looked cooler in real life. Me and Nate and Kayla go to Costco sometimes and eat free samples of things. And last time we were there, Kayla and I nearly passed out on a huge pile of extremely soft bathrobes.

This picture was taken on Kayla's birthday. She turned 23. We went on a pub crawl. This picture features Erica at the Kona Club in Oakland. This pub crawl was more successful than the last one, when we only went to 2 bars.

Devin and Kayla :O

Yay! The pub crawl takes us to Kim's Backyard in Oakland. We were the only people there besides Kim and the bartender. Steve O played "My Ding-a-Ling" on the Jukebox, and the old woman (Kim) who was just sitting there completely fucking wasted at the bar eating peanuts, started dancing in her seat and laughing hysterically and could not be calmed. THEN she freaked out on us and told us the bar was closed a half hour ago!!! She said, "OUT!!!"
After this we went to the Ruby Room I'm pretty sure, and got yelled at for smoking a spliff inside even though people all around us were smoking both cigarettes AND joints. Curious indeed.

This is Dilla, an extremely cute puppy that we have watched a couple of times. Dilla is a mix between a Chow and a German Shepard.

Kitchen.

Dishes.

This is the view from the roof of my friend Johnny's apartment. Johnny's apartment is fucking sweet, and so is his roof. Reflections on the inhabitant I think. I feasted on steak and chicken this night.

Kayla on the roof!

Devin on the roof!

After the rooftop BBQ at Johnny's we all went to a party at Ashley from the Splinters's house. It was a nice party, especially after Dan showed up wielding a giant bottle of whiskey. The party was in honor of this lil' guy whose name is Pablo. What a cute lil' guy! He looks hella weird in this picture though. I don't think he even looks like a real dog. Ashley said he looked like a gargoyle.

Steve O went to a wedding earlier that day.

Devin, Anabel, Kayla, Lea, Lauren, Steve O. This was a fun night. After this party, we went to the hot tub down the street. After the hot tub, we went to Anabel's crazy dorm/hippie compound thing in Berkeley and she made us cheesy chips.

Dolores Park in San Francisco. Devin, Dan and I went to meet Kayla there after she had been job-hunting. We patronized the ganja treat man's services for the very first time. We got a regular brownie, a snickers brownie, and the man threw in a rick krispies treat for free. He was very cool, but he grossly overstated the power of these treats. They were really delicious at any rate.

This is what Devin looks like at Dolores Park.

This is what Devin looks like after Dan throws grass in her face.

We were bored one day and decided to go to Saigon Grill!!!

As you can see, we enjoyed an extremely delicious feast that night. I can't quite put into words just HOW delicious this feast was. Saigon Grill, man. HOLY SHIT. Also Nate got this weird drink with an egg in it, I tried some and it was just terrible. Ew. I never want to drink an egg.

This was a different day when we were bored and just decided to take a burn turn in the Berkeley Hills. Shit is crazy up there! This was also the time of me and Nate's obsession with Big Cups. We paid like $2 for a small lighter this day and it ALREADY died!

I love this sleeping pup.

This is my friend Jose sitting in my living room.

I hang out here sometimes.

We went to Ghost Town Gallery a couple of weeks ago to see The Splinters and ended up getting free drinks. Well, my friends got free drinks and then gave them to me.

Allie and Erica were extremely stoned when they showed up at my house.

The Splinters! Yes!! They were so good that night.

THE END.
